Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior and being in agreement with the mission and purpose of Thornapple Evangelical Covenant Church and desiring to unite in the worship, fellowship and witness of this church, I commit myself to God and to the other members to do the following:

1. I WILL PROTECT THE UNITY OF MY CHURCH (Romans 15:19, Romans 15:5, 1 Peter 1:22, Ephesians 4:29, Hebrews 13:17)
- By acting in love toward other members
- By refusing to gossip
- By following the leaders

2. I WILL SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MY CHURCH (1 Thessalonians 1:2, Luke 14:23, Romans 15:7)
- By praying for its growth
- By inviting the unchurched to attend
- By warmly welcoming those who visit

3. I WILL SERVE THE MINISTRY OF MY CHURCH (1 Peter 4:10, Philippians 2:3-4,7)
- By using my gifts in the service of the church
- By developing a servant's heart

4. I WILL SUPPORT THE TESTIMONY OF MY CHURCH (Hebrews 10:25, Colossians 1:28, 1 Corinthians 14:20, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Leviticus 27:30)
- By attending faithfully
- By endeavoring to grow in Christian maturity
- By giving regularly

5. I HAVE READ AND AFFIRM THE EVANGELICAL COVENANT CHURCH'S SIX AFFIRMATIONS
1. I affirm the centrality of the Word of God
2. I affirm the necessity of the new birth
3. I affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the Church
4. I affirm the Church as a fellowship of believers
5. I affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit
6. I affirm the reality of freedom in Christ
